Associate Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

Keith Pearce BSc Assoc.RICS

I have lived and worked in the South Shropshire area for most of my life and have extensive knowledge and experience of the local environment and housing stock. Ludlow in particular has one of the highest densities of listed buildings in the country; I have enjoyed the unique challenges presented by such buildings in design, renovation and alterations.

I currently live in a conservation area and have carried out numerous projects to homes within the restricted area, as well as in other areas where design & planning restrictions are in effect.  These have included new builds, extensions, renovations and alterations to both listed and non-listed buildings.

Energy efficiency and sustainability have become high priorities within the modern build environment.  These present new challenges for both the designer and builder.  I have enjoyed meeting these challenges using efficient and cost effective solutions.

Summary of Experience

Between 1990-2010, I ran my own Design & Build company operating within the South Shropshire/North Herefordshire areas. This included overseeing and implementing home building projects from drawing up the plans with the client and building it.

Having been a builder for over 20 years has been invaluable experience when it comes to building surveying and project management. Understanding the practicality of the build from the builder’s perspective can be crucial to ensure that projects run smoothly and within their time & budget restraints.

Between 2010-2015 I worked overseas in New Zealand undertaking Building Surveys, Remediation Design, Contract Administration and Construction Review for a large multi disciplined construction consultancy.
